MANITOBA - Vancouver-based VMS Ventures (30%) and partner HudBay Minerals (70%) of Toronto have filed a 43-101 report estimating that the Reed Lake polymetallic deposit near Snow Lake contains an indicated resource of 2.55 million tonnes that grade 4.52% Cu, 0.91% Zn, 0.64 g/t Au and 7.86 g/t Ag. There is also an inferred resource of 170,000 tonnes at 4.26% Cu, 0.52% Zn, 0.38 g/t Au and 4.55 g/t Ag.

The numbers are promising enough to have VMS talking about a prefeasibility study. It says the project is a high grade, near surface deposit that would be accessible via a ramp. The ore could be trucked to the Flin Flon concentrator. A construction decision is expected by the end of this year.
