SOUTH DAKOTA – The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) of Washington, DC, has certified the Wharf gold mine belonging to Vancouver's Goldcorp as being in compliance with the Cyanide Code. The operation was evaluated by an independent professional auditor against the code's principles and standards of practices. The project will re re-audited every three years.

The Wharf mine, located in the famous Black Hills, is an open pit, heap leach gold operation. A series of pits have been developed in several areas of adjoining gold mineralization. Milling capacity at the site is approximately 7,000 t/d with production targeted at 55,000 oz of gold annually.
