GL&V Australia of Sydney has been awarded a contract worth over Cdn$10 million for Inco's new Goro nickel project in New Caledonia. GL&V will supply Dorr-Oliver thickener/clarifier equipment compatible with the special design requirements of Inco's new PAL recovery process (see the April 2002 issue of CMJ). The deal includes six counter-current decantation thickeners, two partial neutralization thickeners, one partial neutralization clarifier, one cobalt thickener, one effluent thickener, and one effluent clarifier.

GL&V Australia is a subsidiary of the GL&V Group headquartered in Montreal. Inco bought its first Dorr-Oliver thickener in 1926 for its base metal concentrator in Copper Cliff, Ont. Since then the two companies have maintained a business relationship at all of Inco's properties. For all the information about GL&V in the many industries it serves, see www.glv.com
