ONTARIO – Toronto-based junior Gowest Gold has announced plans to test mine the Frankfield East gold deposit next year. The deposit is part of the company's North Timmins project 50 km northeast of Timmins.
Meanwhile the company noted highlights from recent drilling at Frankfield East. Hole GW13-232 returned 9.72 g/t Au over 8.3 metres (43.5 to 51.8 metres below the surface). Hole 233 returned 5.12 g/t over 4.3 metres (88.2 to 92.5 metres below the surface). Hole 230 returned 3.94 g/t over 5.7 metres (189.0 to 194.7 metres below the surface).
In preparation for test mining, Gowest has completed underground infrastructure plans. Surface infrastructure to support the test mining phase is currently being designed. The company continues to work on engineering and the baseline environmental study that will be submitted to the appropriate government agencies as part of the application for a test mining permit.
