QUEBEC – Melkior Resources of Ottawa says the results are "very positive" from the first metallurgical tests on material from its Launay gold project in the Abitibi. Activation Laboratories did the tests on composite samples weighing 19.4 kg from Zone 75.

Zone 75 consists of several generations of granite and altered granite containing disseminated pyrite that carries the gold. Recent drilling has revealed several mineralized zones above the 100 metre vertical level which include intersections of up to 46.35 metres averaging 1.83 g/t Au and 1.14 g/t Ag. The sample as tested graded 3.26 g/t Au. Roughly 60% of the gold was recovered by gravity means, and the total gold recovery was 87% when cyanidation was performed after gravity recovery.

Melkior recently incorporated historical data into a Gemcom database to create a 3-D model that points toward several historical holes that have not yet been assayed. The company completed an induced polarization survey in 2010 that pinpointed several new anomalies that deserve to be drilled.

A 43-101 report on the Launay property is available at Melkior.com.
