LABRADOR – The initial resource estimate is out for the Joyce Lake direct shipping ore (DSO) project, a joint venture of Toronto's Century Iron Mines Corp, WISCO and Champion Iron Mines. At a cut-off of 50% Fe, the deposit contains 10.0 million measured and indicated tonnes grading 59.45% Fe plus 5.6 million inferred tonnes grading 55.78% Fe.

The operator of the project, Century, conducted 3,328 metres of reverse circulation drilling during 2011 and 2012 at Joyce Lake. A strike length of 1,100 metres and a width of 600 metres of mineralization was confirmed. The current resource estimate relies on information from the northern part of the Joyce Lake deposit, and the mineralization remains open to the south.

Century said in a release that there are two other DSO targets about 3 km south and southwest of Joyce Lake. They are to be drill tested this winter.

The Joyce Lake deposit is part of the Attikamagen project located in Labrador, approximately 15 km northeast of Schefferville, QC. More information is posted at CenturyIron.com.
