LEAD-ZINC: Canadian Zinc ups resource tonnage at Prairie Creek

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - Vancouver-based Canadian Zinc Corp. has increased the resource tonnages by 32% at its Prairie Creek lead-zinc-silver mine 200 km west of Fort Simpson.

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - Vancouver-based Canadian Zinc Corp. has increased the resource tonnages by 32% at its Prairie Creek lead-zinc-silver mine 200 km west of Fort Simpson.

Measured and indicated resources now stand at 8.7 million tonnes. The figure includes a 48% increase in the Main quartz vein to 4.2 million indicated tonnes grading 11.6% Pb, 9.2% Zn, and 168 g/t Ag. There was a 40% increase in the Stockwork indicated resource to 2.0 million tonnes grading 3.5% Pb, 6.6% Zn, and 61 g/t Ag. The Stockwork measured resource now stands at 169,000 tonnes grading 5.3% Pb, 12.6% Zn, and 116 g/t Ag.

Total inferred resource tonnage remains unchanged at 7.0 million tonnes. The Stockwork resource doubled to 1.6 million inferred tonnes at 4.6% Pb, 6.2% Zn, and 70 g/t Ag, but the Main quartz vein decreased to 5.3 million inferred tonnes at 8.7% Pb, 12.9% Zn, 199 g/t Ag as tonnes were converted to the indicated category.
