MINING PEOPLE: AndeanGold, ArcelorMittal, and Matamec Explorations

AndeanGold of Vancouver has named Alexander Pena Bottcher as its new president and CEO. He had been serving in an interim capacity since November 2014.

Pierre Lapointe is now president and CEO of Montreal-based ArcelorMittal Mining Canada. He also becomes head of the management committee of ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada. He is a former general management of the Deschambault aluminum smelter and president and CEO of Becancour aluminum smelter. Lapointe holds an MBA from the University of Sherbrooke.

Montreal's Matamec Explorations has invited Pierre Leblanc to join its board of directors. He was a partner of KPGM until his retirement in October 2013.
