MINING PEOPLE: Barisan Gold, Catalyst Copper, Caza Gold; Mindoro, Sunshine Oilsands, and Yamana Gold

Shawn Westcott has joined the team of Barisan Gold Corp. in Vancouver taking over the responsibilities of president. He joined the company from NioCorp Development where he led that company's corporate communications team.

Vancouver-based Catalyst Copper Corp. has appointed Frank Giustra, Ian Telfer and Richard Warke to its board of directors. Warke has also been named CEO and president of the company. David Laing and Matthew Lawson have resigned.

Caza Gold Corp. of Vancouver has named Brian Arkell president and CEO. He was most recently an executive at Rio Novo Gold, and before that he had a 24-year career with Newmont Mining.

Edmonton's Mindoro Resources has promoted executive VP Penny Gould to the position of CEO following the resignation of Tony Climie. She first joined the company n 1996.

Executive chairman Michael Hibberd has assumed the CEO's responsibilities at Sunshine Oilsands of Calgary. The company is seeking a permanent president and CEO.

Toronto-based Yamana Gold has two new directors, Christiane Bergevin and Jane Sadowsky. Bergevin is an executive at Desjardins Group in Montreal, QC. Sadowsky is the managing partner at Gardener Advisory LLC, based in New York, NY.
