MINING PEOPLE: Cordoba Minerals, First Cobalt, Golden Dawn, Osisko Metals, and Yamana Gold

Cordoba Minerals of Toronto has appointed a new COO, Mark Gibson, and a new VP exploration, Eugenio Espada. Jason Rickard has been named to the new position of exploration manager at Toronto-based First Cobalt Corp. He was previously a senior geologist at Goldcorp’s Borden gold project. Rickard will oversee work at the company’s projects near Cobalt, Ont. Vancouver-based Golden Dawn Minerals has named George Sookochoff as executive VP of corporate development and communications. He holds a business degree from the University of British Columbia and has over 30 years of experience in the junior mining industry. There are new board members at Osisko Metals in Montreal. They are Robert Wares (chairman), Amy Satov, Claude Charron, Jeff Hussey, John Burzynski, Luc Lessard, and Paul A. Dumas. Robert Gallagher has been appointed to the board of Yamana Gold in Toronto. With over 35 years of experience, he was recently president and CEO of New Gold. He was the 2013 recipient of the Viola R. MacMillan Award bestowed by the PDAC.
