She is currently a director of Glencore plc, and has held numerous other executive and board positions in the resource sector. She has also served with several government organizations focused on climate change and the environment. Toronto-based Golden Star Resources says as of July 8, 2019, Daniel Owiredu will step away from his roles as executive VP and COO and become president of the company at year end. Beginning next year, Owiredu will relinquish his post as president and become chairman of the board. Graham Crew will become the new executive VP and COO. He was recently general manager of mining for Barminco, and before that general manager of the Bulyanhulu mine. Effective July 1, 2019, Quaterra Resources of Vancouver will have a new president and CEO. He is Gerald Prosalendis. He is currently president and COO of the company. Thomas Patton will resign as CEO while retaining role of chairman. [caption id="attachment_1003729424" align="alignright" width="114"] Sir Richard Lapthorne[/caption] Sherritt International of Toronto has named Sir Richard Lapthorne its new chairman of the board. He has been a director of the company since September 2011. Stuart McDonald, formerly the company’s CFO, is now president of Taseko Mines in Vancouver. Russell Hallbauer will relinquish his role as president, but remain CEO. Richard Trembley, until recently the VP and general manager of the Gibraltar mine, will become VP operations. Director of corporate finance Bryce Hamming has been promoted to CFO.
