Following its AGM, Aguila American Gold of Vancouver made the following appointments: Nick DeMare as CFO and secretary; James McCrea as VP exploration; John Huguet as chairman; and Blair Way as president and CEO. Blair was most recently, Vice President, Project Director, member of the Executive Management Team, reporting to the CEO of Ventana Gold's LaBodega project in Colombia.

Vancouver-based Galore Resources' new president is Uwe Schmidt, who was originally the company's VP of exploration. Former president Michael Byrne will take up the duties of CFO, and Bill Coulter has retired from the board and chairmanship of Galore.

Wayne Reid has been hired by GTA Resources and Mining of Burlington, ON, as president and CEO, effective Dec. 1, 2012. At that time, the current president and CEO Peter M. Clausi will become executive VP corporate affairs and general counsel. Robert Duess, the company's VP exploration will become a director.

Northern Vertex Mining of Vancouver has named J.R.H. "Dick" Whittington its president and CEO as well as a director. His 35-year career has taken him across Canada, Mexico, Panama, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Former president and CEO Kenneth Berry is now chairman of the board.

Tim Sanford, former general manager at the Ming copper-gold mine belonging to Rambler Metals and Mining of Baie Verte, NL, has been promoted to VP technical services. The position of general manager at the mine is now held by Robert P. McGuire.

Teck Resources of Vancouver has made four recent appointments. They are Keith Stein as VP project development; Bill Fleming as VP engineering, projects and business improvement; Robin Sheremeta as VP operations coal; and Bob Kelly VP health and safety. Stein's appointment took effect Oct. 1, 2012, and the others will assume their new roles on Jan. 1, 2013.
