Vancouver-based Aura Minerals has named Britt Reid to the post of COO. Most recently he was COO at North American Tungsten, and before that VP mining ops for Aur Resources. In the same announcement, Aura said it has appointed Tom Ogryzlo to its board of directors.

 

The Hon. Bill McKnight, a Member of Parliament for 14 years, has been named a director of Great Western Minerals Group of Saskatoon, SK. He is a director of several public and private organizations and chairman of Cline Mining Corp. In addition, McKnight is an honourary chief of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.

 

Jochen Tilk, president and COO of Toronto's Inmet Mining, has assumed the role of president and CEO. He has been employed by the company for 21 years in a number of executive roles. The board has accepted the resignation of Richard Ross, the current chairman and CEO, effective Dec. 31, 2009.

 

Lundin Mining of Toronto has a new senior VP corporate development, Paul K. Conibear. A native of Sudbury, ON, and a civil engineer by training, Conibear joined Lundin in 2007 as senior VP projects. Before that he was president of Tenke Mining which merged with Lundin two years ago.

 

Charles Creig has taken up the duties as VP exploration at MetalCorp Limited of Toronto. He has been under contract to the company since earlier this year.
