Aurizon Mines of Vancouver has named Martin Bergeron as VP operations. He will be based in Val d'Or, QC, and till oversee the company's projects in Quebec including the Casa Berardi gold mine and Joanna gold project. A graduate of Laval University, Bergeron is a former general manager for Agnico-Eagle Mines and a mine manager for IamGold.

 

Marc Leduc has been named COO of Vancouver's Bear Creek Mining to head the development team for the company's Corani and Santa Ana silver deposits. During his 24 years with the industry, he was chief engineer in charge of developing Barrick's Pierina gold mine.

 

The new member of Vancouver-based Commerce Resources Corp. board is Ian Graham, former chair of the University of British Columbia's Mineral Deposit Research Unit. He is currently president of Discovery Harbour Resources.

 

Medoro Resources of Toronto has appointed John W.W. Hick the CEO and a director of the company. He is a graduate of the universities of Toronto and Ottawa and has held senior executive positions at number of other Canadian mining companies.

 

Naomi Nemeth is the new president and CEO of Toronto-based MetalCorp. She has been a director of the company since July 2007.

 

Vancouver's Zincore Metals has a new president and CEO, Jorge Benavides. He was named interim CEO in June 2009. He is a graduate of Stanford University (MSc ore deposits) and the Colorado School of Mines (BSc geological engineering).
