MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Canada Lithium, Century Mining and West Kirkland

Former IamGold VP Charles Taschereau is taking up the post of COO at Toronto-based Canada Lithium. He is the holder of an MSc in mining engineering from Laval University, an MBA from Curtin University (Australia) and a certificate from the Harvard General Management Program. Germaine Coombs, formerly with FNX Mining, has also joined Canada Lithium as CFO.

Century Mining of Blaine, WA, has named John McDonald the general manager and Marc Defosses the mine superintendent of the company's Lamaque gold mine in Val d'Or, QC. Both men have extensive experience in the mines of the Abitibi Belt. McDonald also holds a degree in mining engineering from Queen's University.

Vancouver-based West Kirkland Mining has made Ken Kryklywy is manager for Ontario and Quebec. He was on the teams that outlined the Young-Davidson and Holt-Holloway gold resources.
