MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Crowflight/Kria, Peregrine Metals, Oro Mining and Rainy River

Toronto-based Crowflight Minerals and Kria Resources have announced the sudden passing of Steven Davies who was VP operations and COO of both companies.

George Bee has been appointed a director of Vancouver's Peregrine Metals. He is also president and CEO of Andina Minerals.

Oro Mining, newly created following the business combination of Oro Gold Resources and Oro Silver Resources, has named John Brownlie CEO and COO. Darren Bahrey continues as president. The four other board members of the new company in Vancouver are Robert Kendrick, Greg Martin, Ron Ewing and Laura Diaz Nieves.

The new VP exploration at Rainy River Resources is Kerry Sparkes. He is the holder of MSc and BSc (Hons) degrees from Memorial University in Newfoundland. Notably, he was involved in the discovery and delineation of the Voisey's Bay nickel-cobalt deposits. Sparkes will be based at the company's Toronto office.
