The new board of directors at Equinox Minerals of Toronto consists of Rick McCreary, Jamie Sokalsky, Kelvin Dushnisky and Rob Krcmarov. Craig Williams, David McAusland, David Mosher, Jim Pantelidis and Tony Reeves resigned from the board following the company's takeover by Barrick Gold.

Toronto's Lake Shore Gold has named Dan Gagnon to the post of VP Timmins Operations and general manager. He is a former manager of the Copper Cliff mine as well as Goldcorp's Red Lake Gold Mines and employee of Placer Dome as manager of the Timmins and Musselwhite miines. Lake Shore has also hired Brian Buss as director of project development. He, too, is a veteran of Vale's Sudbury mines.

The next general manager at Teck Resources' Trail Operations will be Greg Belland. He joined Teck (known then as Cominco) in 1988 as a research engineer. He left in 1994 but returned in 1997 and has served in a variety of capacities at Trail. Belland will replace Mike Martin who is retiring. He retires on July 1, exactly 39 years after he joined the company.
