John D. Harvey is the newest board member to join Harte Gold of Toronto. He is a University of New Brunswick graduate and spent most of his career with Noranda, eventually becoming president of Noranda Exploration (1982-94) during which time he also served as president of Hemlo Gold Mines (1989-92). Prior to Noranda, he was VP exploration for Mattagami Lake Mines which merged with Noranda in 1982. Since his early retirement in 1994, Harvey has consulted with several junior mining companies involved in the Ring of Fire.

Maya Gold & Silver of Montreal has made the first appointment to its advisory board, Mackenzie I. Watson. He has 50 years of exploration experience and has been involved in the discovery of numerous coal, base metals and gold deposits in Canada. He was awarded Canada's Prospector of the Year Award in 1991 for his participation in the discovery of a number of deposits in Canada, including the Harker Holloway gold mine, the Icon Sullivan copper mine, the Long Lac zinc mine, the Ellison gold deposit and the Hebecourt copper deposit. He was also awarded the Quebec Prospector of the Year Award in 1992 for his contribution in the discovery of the Pusticamica and Verneuil gold deposits in Quebec. Watson is a past-president and an ex-director of Freewest Resources Canada. In 2010, he was a co-recipient of the Bill Dennis Award for a Canadian discovery for prospecting success by the Prospectors and Developers Association.

Cliff Grandison has relinquished his role as CEO of Vancouver's Skyline Gold to Patrick Soares, who will be executive director. Soares was previously president and CEO of Brett Resources until it was taken over by Osisko Mining earlier this year.

Vancouver-based Taseko Mines has named David Rouleau its new VP operations. He will be responsible for overseeing all operations aspects of the Gibraltar mine as well as the development and ultimate operation of the Prosperity mine. Prior to joining Taseko, he was a senior management team member at Canadian Natural Resources that developed the Horizon oil sands mine.

United Mining Group of Vancouver has appointed Charles Pitcher its new CEO and a director. He was previously president and CEO of Western Canadian Coal. Greg Stewart will continue as chairman, president and also assume the role of COO.
