Vancouver-based Monument Mining has named Scott Ladd to the post of VP business development. He is a graduate of Laurentian University in Sudbury, ON, and the previous director of operations performance management with Kinross Gold.

Gerry McConnell has been named chairman of the board at NovaGold Resources in Vancouver. He is a former president and CEO of the company and has served as a director since 1984.

Gerald Harper, a past president of the PDAC and past chair of its environmental committee, has joined the NWM Mining board of directors in Toronto. He is also president of Gamah International, a consulting company he established in 1992.

Quadra FNX Mining of Vancouver has appointed Michael Winship as its new COO. He takes over from Jack Miller who is retiring. Winship’s career spans over 30 years in mine development, operation and corporate business. He was recently president and COO at HudBay Minerals. He holds a degree in mining engineering from McGill University.

Former president and CEO of Brett Resources, Patrick Soares, has joined the board of directors at Skyline Gold of Vancouver.
