SASKATCHEWAN – Fission Energy Corp. of Kelowna, BC, and its 50% joint venture partner Alpha Minerals of Vancouver are pleased with the recent nine-hole drilling program on their Patterson Lake South uranium property on the southwest margin of the Athabasca Basin.

The best hole, PLS12-024 intersected 1.78% U3O8 over 18.0 metres from 65.0 to 83.0 metres below surface. The length included 12.5 metres at 2.49%, 3.5 metres at 4.33% and 0.50 metre at 11.1% U3O8. Other promising holes returned 1.07% over 8.5 metres including 2.5 metres at 2.63% U3O8; 0.40% over 22.5 metres including 4.03 metres at 0.85% U3O8; and 0.27% U3O8 over 9.5 metres.

Fission and Alpha said the drilling program focused on the partially tested PL-3B electromagnetic conductor as well as other untested parallel east-northeast trending EM conductors that lie about 3.0 km to the east of the high grade uranium boulder field reported in July 2011.
