ZINC MINING – Lundin’s Aljustrel project commissioned

PORTUGAL - LUNDIN MINING of Vancouver has started production at its Aljustrel mine and mill in the southern part of the country. The first zinc concentrates were produced on Dec. 16, 2007. At full production, annual output will be 80,000 tonnes of zinc, 17,000 tonnes of lead and 1.25 million oz of silver in concentrates for at least 10 years.

Lundin acquired the Aljustrel property when it merged with EUROZINC MINING in October 2006. The mine has been on care and maintenance for 14 years.
