Infrastructure Symposium Attracts Hundreds From Across Canada
Judging by the turnout at the 1st Annual Strategic Northern Infrastructure Symposium held in Yellowknife recently, there’s definitely widespread interest in what’s happening north of the 60th parallel and even more interest in what potential there is for future exploration and development in the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
In fact, the topic of mining and in particular, “the infrastructure” was so important that all three Premiers, plus the federal Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs, The Honourable Chuck Strahl, made the journey to address the delegates and to talk one-on-one about the future of the North.
During the two-day event, the overflow crowd heard presentations dealing with everything from Government/Industry relations, to Infrastructure needs including Roads, Ports and Water and Power, to Regulatory and First Nations’ concerns.
Because of the symposium’s popularity, organizers are already working on the 2nd Annual event to be held in Nunavut. For further information on the event, contact northernstrategygroup.com
