NovaRed’s Noem gamble: A bone-headed move or bold strategy?

What a bone-headed move to invite Kristi Noem to join the NovaRed board! It is hard to think of a more toxic individual. Charlie Angus said it best: Does NovaRed Mining want a person on its board who is being investigated by Amnesty International?

You want her government expertise? Your projects are in Canada, and it is impossible to think that with her track record of abusing human rights, ignoring the rule of law, and wild overspending on advertising that you believe you want to run your company that way. Stakeholder engagement? I hope the Indigenous community bans her from their lands as they did in South Dakota and your company, too.

I have spent 50 years as a writer at Canadian Mining Journal. The experience has made me a keen exploration and mining observer, visiting successful mining companies around the world. I know that responsible mining companies can and do exist.

I would never recommend NovaRed to a potential investor nor spend a penny of my money on your wildly irresponsible actions.
