BRITISH COLUMBIA - Development is progressing on schedule for a mid-2011 startup at the Copper Mountain project of Vancouver's Copper Mountain Mining. The property is located near Princeton.

The concentrator building has been clad in dark green sheathing, and inside the foundations for the ball mills are ready to be poured. Concrete has already been poured for the concentrate stock and filtrate tanks. Grinding mills and other major mill equipment is arriving at the site, and will be installed and tested this winter.

Elsewhere, work on the assay lab is underway, and the coarse ore stockpile reclaim tunnel is nearly finished. An overland conveyor system is being installed to move crushed ore from the new primary crusher to the coarse stockpile.

The company plant to begin preproduction mining as soon as the 40-m3 Komatsu PC8000 hydraulic shovel arrives and is assembled. It is expected in mid-September. A second PC8000 is to be delivered by April 2011.
