[caption id="attachment_1003723836" align="aligncenter" width="532"] Nemaska has secured offtake agreements for 90% of the production from its plant in Shawinigan, Que.[/caption] QUEBEC CITY – Nemaska Lithium has signed a five-year agreement to supply battery grade lithium hydroxide to LG Chem, South Korea’s largest diversified chemical company. The company now has  offtake agreements for 90% of its production. Beginning in October 2020, Nemaska will supply 7,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year on a take-or-pay basis to LG. The start date is dependent on the company’s Shawinigan, Que., metallurgical plant reaching commercial production. Nemaska operates the Whabouchi lithium mine and mill 300 km northwest of Chibougamau, Que. Concentrate from the mine site is further processed into in the company’s 33,000 t/d plant in Shawinigan.
