Goldcorp of Vancouver has named Todd White as COO. Prior to joining Goldcorp in 2014, he was the senior VP, South America at Newmont Mining. He holds a BSc from the University of Nevada. This appointment follows the company’s announcement that George Burns, formerly executive VP and COO, is leaving the company to assume the role of president and CEO at Eldorado Gold. Following its recent takeover of Newmarket Gold, Kirkland Lake Gold of Toronto has announced its new slate of executives. The team will be led by Anthony Makuch, president and COO, and is comprised of Darren Hall, COO, Phil Yee, CFO, and Alasdair Federico, executive VP, corporate affairs and CSR. In addition, the company has named John Landmark, VP exploration, Australia; Jason Gregg as VP human resources; Ryan King as VP investor relations; and Galina Meleger as director corporate communications. New Gold of Toronto has announced changes to its senior management. Hannes Portmann, formerly the company’s executive VP business development, has been named president. Randall Oliphant will continue in his role of executive chairman; and Brian Penny will continue as executive VP and CFO; David Schummer, executive VP and COO, is leaving New Gold, and Raymond Threlkeld, currently a member of the board, will become interim COO. TSX-listed Pershing Gold has hired Timothy D. Arnold as its VP of operations. He is currently the president of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, with his term ending in February 2017.
